Mathieu Baert leads the sports law practice within the Belgian law firm Everest with offices in Brussels, Ghent and Antwerp. He has also a mandate as an academic consultant with regards to sports crime at the world-renowned Ghent University. He was recognized in 2021,2022 and 2023 as Rising Star within the Legal 500 for sports-based crime matters.
Mathieu Baert published several scientific articles in this regard. He also advises and assists international and national sports federations on match-fixing related matters. In a broader sports law context, he is responsible for all litigation for a national football league association and he assists several football agents in multi-million transfer deals.
